The digital fabrication laboratory (FabLab Indoamerica) of the Indoamerica Technological University is composed of several specialised work areas, which are described below:
1. Laser Cutting: Station equipped with laser cutting and engraving technology, designed to make precise cuts in a variety of materials, such as wood, acrylic, paper and textiles. This station includes CO2 laser machines, specialised software, safety tools and consumables necessary for its operation.
2. Vinyl Cutting: Area for the production of custom vinyl graphics and designs. Includes precision vinyl cutters, material rollers, application tools and adhesive materials.
3. Electronics - Precision Machining: Station designed for the design, development and manufacture of electronic circuits and high precision components. It is equipped with soldering fixtures, printed circuit boards (PCBs), precision tooling, electronic components, and other materials necessary for prototyping.
4. 3D Printers and 3D Scanners: Area with FDM and SLA technology 3D printers, 3D scanners, filaments of various materials (PLA, ABS, photopolymer resins), and specialised software for the creation of prototypes and three-dimensional models.
5. CNC Router / Large Format Cutting: Space equipped with CNC routers for cutting and sculpting large materials such as wood, plastic and aluminium. It includes work tables, milling tools, drills of different sizes, dust extraction systems and CNC control software.
6.Sewing: Station dedicated to textile manufacturing, equipped with industrial sewing machines, cutting tools, threads, fabrics, and other materials necessary for prototyping clothing, accessories, and textile applications.
7. Moulding: Area specialising in casting, thermoforming and injection moulding techniques. Includes mould development equipment, ovens, handling tools, moulding materials and other accessories.
